Barn Quilts
Friends! I had the best group of ladies for a class a couple of months back. I taught some classes at the local community college this past semester and each class was so fun, but this group of ladies who all worked for the college—they were the best. They get together on occasion and they take a class or do something fun. And I had the pleasure of having them in my barn quilt painting class. Barn quilts are fun to begin with. I have some templates and some 12”x12” wood blocks for them to sketch their designs on and then they get to pick their colors and away they go. Just look at these designs!
The fun thing about these quilts is that it’s easy to scale up. As long as you are using a square template, you can scale it to any size. Break it down into thirds and go from there. I mean, look at these ladies! They really knocked it out of the park. And the 12”x12” blocks are perfect for hanging on your wall. You can even seal them and put them outside. I’ve seen the quilts hanging on houses and on mailboxes. It’s so fun and then you get to enjoy your creation or give it as a gift.
Want to learn how to make them? Grab your friends and contact me. Let’s have some fun making some barn quilts!
‘til next time
